TULSA, OK, December 12, 2008  - Integrated Service Company, L.L.C. (InServ) has completed another successful turnaround at the Holly Refinery in Salt Lake City, Utah (Holly SLC).  Holly SLC is another repeat customer where InServ has developed a relationship over the course of several projects.  Richard McDaniel, Vice President of Field Services for InServ noted, “InServ’s reputation at Holly SLC as the vendor of choice for critical path projects has been earned by exhibiting all of our Core Values and by tailoring our services to our customer’s needs.”

The latest turnaround project at Holly SLC included FCC unit Maintenance, Mechanical and Refractory, Convection Section Replacement, Flare Tip Replacement, Plant-Wide Steam Valve Repairs and GHC Unit Tie-Ins.  The scheduled three week project was completed on time.  InServ’s skilled labor crew of 220 craftsmen put in more than 60,000 hours.  InServ also managed the outsourced services for scaffolding, machinists, insulation, hydro-cutters and crane subcontractors.

InServ’s experienced Field Services Group is well versed in plant turnarounds and takes pride in their efficient, effective problem solving of the refinery business’ toughest challenges.  There are many issues that present themselves in scheduled turnarounds that are often not factored into the initial scope.  InServ’s approach to the difficult challenge of extracting the flue gas cooler tubes at the Holly SLC project was resolved by redirecting resources to gouge the tubes instead of extracting as well as hiring additional manpower to maintain outage schedule.

In all, the Holly SLC project was a great success with over 60,000 man-hours of incident free performance and a low weld repair rate.  McDaniel further stated that “Holly is an excellent partner; we cannot be successful without a successful sponsoring owner. We have that with Holly.  Holly values the project components that we value and they are a perfect example of a win-win partnering relationship.  We are looking forward to our next project there.”
